What a seed does

A seed is a short text label that starts the generator in a repeatable way. It is not a password or an account ID. Printable Puzzle Kit accepts 1 to 40 letters A–Z, numbers, hyphens or underscores, and treats uppercase and lowercase as different text. Type the seed, choose the settings and select Generate from seed.

What you need to keep

For a word search, keep the seed, theme, direction setting and generator version printed on the sheet. A Sudoku needs its seed, difficulty and version. Paper size and large print affect presentation only. They do not change word placement or Sudoku givens. New puzzle picks a new seed for the current settings.

Why the version matters

An engine update can change the generation rules. The version qg-1 identifies word searches and the first Sudoku release; qg-2 identifies the current graded Sudoku. PDFs are self-contained, so keeping a downloaded file preserves the actual grid even if future software changes. Do not assume a seed alone will reproduce identical output forever across versions.

Nothing is saved to an account

Settings and generated grids remain in the open page. There are no accounts. Your analytics choice, if you make one, may be remembered in browser storage; puzzle settings are not saved there. Reloading returns to the default puzzle. Download the PDF or write down the seed and settings if you want to return to a grid. Seeds are not sent as analytics events.
