Inside this theme

Find ROBIN, SPARROW, THRUSH, CHICKADEE, STARLING, WREN, BLACKBIRD, MAGPIE, NUTHATCH, GOLDFINCH, SWALLOW and JAY. The twelve entries are curated as a small connected collection rather than an unfiltered dictionary list. All use A–Z letters in the grid.

A few words to notice

Some names are broad groups, and a robin in North America is a different species from a European robin. The list combines US and UK familiar names rather than claiming every bird lives in every garden. It is a word puzzle, not a species-identification guide.

Make a fresh sheet

Choose forward directions or all eight directions, then generate the puzzle. Each target appears exactly once as a complete straight line, although words can share letters. New puzzle makes another arrangement of this same list. A different theme changes the vocabulary.

Print and keep the answer

Choose Letter or A4 and download the two-page PDF. The first page is the puzzle; the second is its matching marked solution. Large print is on by default. Print at 100% to keep the stated letter size, and keep the seed with the answer if you make copies for a group.
